Wells, town water, septic and raised houses, from the Pines to the bay

About this site

Ocean County Wells & Pipes explains water, wells and pipes for people who own houses here: Pinelands wells, the Private Well Testing Act, septic in sand, lagoon houses, and plumbing in homes raised after Sandy. It is laid out like a local newspaper because that is how we wanted to organize it, by town and by where your water comes from. It does not report news, and it has no reporters.

How the pages are made

Each page is compiled from public sources: state rules, agency pages, utility water quality reports and federal documents. They are written with AI help and checked against those sources. The sources are listed at the end of each page, with the date we last checked them. No licensed plumber, engineer or lawyer has reviewed these pages, and none of it is legal or engineering advice. For your own house, the county health department, your construction office and a licensed professional have the last word.

What we could not confirm

Several official sites did not open for us when we checked, including parts of the state environmental agency's site, the county utilities authority, and some town and utility sites. Where that happened we used an archived copy of the official page and say so, or a legal text mirror for rule language, or we left the fact out and said we could not confirm it. If a page differs from what your agency or utility says, believe them.

What this site is not

We are not a plumber, well driller or septic contractor. We do no installs or repairs and give no quotes. There is no phone number here to call because nobody here would come to your house. The people named on a page are agencies and the authors of documents; we did not interview them.

Who pays for it

This site shares owners with several plumbing and water businesses. See who owns this, and look for the ownership note beside every link to them.
